The final week of the 18th annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month is all about making security a priority, with businesses urged to: build security into products and processes; make cybersecurity training a part of employee onboarding; and equip staff with the tools they need to keep the organization safe. Users, meanwhile, are encouraged to keep cybersecurity at the forefront of their mind as they connect daily.
Before purchasing a device or online product, consumers should do their research, according to the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which co-lead Cybersecurity Awareness Month. And when setting up a new device or app, users must consider your security and privacy settings and update default passwords, the agencies said.
