The top channel executive at UiPath has left the robotic process automation vendor for revenue data analytics software upstart Gong.
According to the LinkedIn account for Eddie O’Brien, O’Brien left UiPath this month to become senior vice president of partnerships at Palo Alto, Calif.-based Gong.
O’Brien’s formal title at New York-based UiPath was senior vice president of go-to-market operations and global channel chief, according to his LinkedIn. He joined UiPath in 2020.

At Gong, O’Brien is “responsible for building an industry leading SAAS partner ecosystem that parallels Gong’s hyper growth as a MVP that allows customers to have one central place for all their customer-facing interactions and processes,” according to his LinkedIn.
Gong offers a revenue intelligence platform for analyzing customer interactions and providing data to revenue teams. Its 3,000-plus users include LinkedIn, Monday.com, Tech Data, Zillow and Okta, according to the company’s website. Gong was founded in 2015.
At UiPath, his goal was “to help scale the business globally with and through a wide ecosystem of Partners while also responsible for GTM Operations and IPO Sales Readiness,” according to his LinkedIn.
O’Brien reported on his progress in an interview with CRN last year, saying that UiPath had gone beyond 8,000 total customers and beyond 4,000 partners at the time. The company now has more than 10,000 customers and more than 5,000 partners.
Before UiPath, O’Brien worked at competitor Automation Anywhere for more than a year. He held the title of executive vice president and chief channel officer, according to his LinkedIn.
His resume includes more than three years at Dropbox, leaving the company in 2019 with the title of global channel chief, according to his LinkedIn.
He also worked at Microsoft for more than 15 years, leaving in 2014 with the title of vice president of the worldwide operator channel.
O’Brien was a member of CRN’s 2022 and 2021 Channel Chiefs lists for UiPath. He reported to UiPath Chief Revenue Officer Thomas Hansen, according to O’Brien’s Channel Chiefs profile.
Hansen also left UiPath recently, according to his LinkedIn. He left in May and joined digital optimization software provider Amplitude as president.
O’Brien’s fellow Channel Chiefs listmaker for UiPath, Cherlyn Chin, appears to still be at UiPath, according to her LinkedIn.
Chin’s formal title is vice president of global partners and alliances, a title she has held since 2019, according to her LinkedIn. She reported to O’Brien, according to her Channel Chiefs profile.
On June 1, UiPath released its latest quarterly earnings, which covered the company’s first quarter of fiscal year 2023, ended April 30.
UiPath reported $977 million in annual recurring revenue, up 50 percent year over year. The company saw $245.1 million in revenue for the quarter, up 32 percent year over year.
The company reported a net loss of $122.6 million, less of a loss than the $239.7 million lost during the same period a year prior.
Co-CEO Rob Enslin told investors on the earnings call in June “we‘re going to expand the ecosystem and channel business” as part of the company’s efforts to improve go-to-market activity, according to a transcript.LEARN MORE: Business Intelligence and Analytics | Enterprise Applications
