AWS Remains Cloud Market Share Leader

Last week, AWS reported fourth quarter 2022 revenue earnings of $21.38 billion. This represented a 20 percent year-over-year sales growth.

The Seattle-based company generated operating income of $5.2 billion in fourth quarter 2022, compared to $5.3 billion year over year.

Although it was one of AWS’ slowest revenue growth rates in years, the company is still the worldwide market share leader in cloud infrastructure services.

AWS captured 33 percent of the cloud infrastructure services market during the fourth quarter, according to new cloud market data from IT firm Synergy Research Group. Microsoft remains the No. 2 market leader in cloud at 23 percent share of the global cloud services market, followed by Google who won 11 percent share of the market.LEARN MORE: Cloud Platforms  | Cloud VARs  | Cloud Infrastructure
