Meet Reliance JioMeet– A 100% “Made in India” video conferencing tool for every native digital customer who has a smartphone and access to app galleries. Promoted as “India’s Own Secure Video Conferencing Solution” for the pandemic-stricken business population, Reliance JioMeet is already perched to take on the existing market leaders such as Google Meet, Zoom Video, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco WebEx.
The JioMeet app is 100% free to use, and can truncate video conferencing with up to 100 users accessing through Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and other reliable browsers. With an uncanny resemblance to Google Meet and Zoom, the new made in India app can dig out the unbanked market of uninterrupted, undisrupted commercial landscape of SMBs and solo-preneurs who still have to shell a decent amount of money to go for premium features in Video Conferencing suite.
The JioMeet launch comes barely weeks after the parent company Reliance Jio introduced a contactless door-to-door grocery delivery platform, JioMart. These announcements are part of the big fundraising that Jio acquired in recent months, The latest fundraising of $15.2 billion makes Reliance Jio the most cost-rich company in the Indian telecom market, if the not the whole of Asia and Europe.
As per latest market reports published in Indian Financial dailies, US semiconductor giant Intel is also investing INR 1895.4 Crore for 0.39% stake in Reliance Jio platforms.
Earlier, it was speculated that Jio was beta testing its Video Conferencing app in May. Within a month’s time, it added high-secured infrastructure and enterprise-grade privacy controls to beat the challenges that come with free add-ons, multiple screen sharing, and opt-ins from free callers.
